When I found out that I had HIV, I did not want live anymore. But I had three people in my corner who made me move on. I’ve had HIV since 2002. I was scared, but I’m very blessed to still be here.

What is your greatest achievement?

That I’m still alive living with HIV. I was told, “Don’t let it control you. You control it.”

What is your greatest regret?

Having HIV.

What keeps you up at night?

Just thinking, Why me?”

What is the best advice you ever received?

Love yourself, and keep God on your side and good people in your corner.

Who in the HIV community do you most admire?

God, Audrey White and Dr. Hartman.

What drives you to do what you do?

God and my husband.

If you had to evacuate your house immediately, what is the one thing you would grab on the way out?

My medicine.
