Members from an HIV/AIDS student education group at analternative school in Buffalo, New York, collected Christmas gifts for anHIV-positive mother and her 10-year-old child, reports.  

The students attend the Academy School @ 44 for grades 7 to12. The teenagers adopted the family as a way of educating their fellowclassmates about HIV/AIDS. The Erie County Medical Center connected thestudents with the family and delivered the gifts. 

“These are just a few items we put together in little boxesfor the family just to be generous,” said Lamere Sims, a member of the studentgroup Peer Educators for HIV/AIDS Awareness, which coordinated the effort.
