Swazi men are *more* likely to have HIV if they've been circumcised - 19.5% of intact Swazi men have HIV 21.8% of circumcised Swazi men have HIV (figures from www.measuredhs.com) Other countries where circumcised men are *more* likely to be HIV+ include Cameroon, Ghana, Lesotho, Malawi, Rwanda, and Zimbabwe. That's at least seven African countries where men are more likely to be HIV+ if they've been circumcised, and yet they're promoting circumcision to prevent HIV. Why??

Why won't these happy, healthy men let us cut their genitals? It's so much easier to do it to non consenting infants and boys.

Hey, it just proves African men are smarter than the Americans who try to force circumcision on them. Back to the drawing board, circumcisers... try Antarctica maybe...

Circumcisers underestimated men in Swaziland. That's why American doctors target infants - babies can't say "NO!" I pray this practice will end very soon. It has hurt enough people, ruined enough relationships. Circumcision obviously doesn't prevent HIV - the US has the highest rate of HIV among industrialized countries and also the highest rate of circumcision. BRAVO, SWAZILAND!

Sexual health is maintained by using condoms and minimizing sexual partners. Removal of the foreskin changes the mechanics of sexual intercourse and causes the normally sensitive protected end of the penis to be constantly exposed, causing it to callous and loose sensitivity. These circumcised men will NOT be willing to wear a condom after circumcision. I fear that this misguided campaign will increase HIV in circumcised men.

Good, I'm glad the US's campaign to spread our take on genital mutilation has not fooled African men. The blatant racism here should be pretty clear to everyone - According to this program, African men are too stupid to know how to clean themselves, and therefore we need to cut off the ends of their penises. What a horrible country I live in.

Perhaps those "officials" who are wondering "what went wrong" with the campaign to promote circumcision to "prevent HIV" should consider the obvious, cutting a man's foreskin off does not prevent HIV infection. The politics behind this medical fraud needs to be understood. Those who are promoting this nonsense are motivated by money and power. The so called studies that the claims of circumcision efficacy rest on are deeply flawed. Female partners of cut men are at more risk.

Why circumsize, there is NO proof this helps.
