Staying focused is always a challenge; after over 30 years in the gym, plus riding my bike since an early age, I find that establishing some sort of goal like a activity/event date reminds me to stay on task for that purpose. Oftentimes, getting to the gym or out on the trail is easier to postpone, either because I'm tired or have something else I would rather do, although if I tell myself I will only plan on a 20 minute exercise, I generally find my energy to squeeze out a complete workout.
