Please stop referring to cannabis as "weed." Furthermore, cannabis can hardly be considered a drug people "abuse."

I am skeptical about the survey results of this research. It is my experience that people in active addiction/alcoholism miss doses simply because the substance abuse is more important than meds. When asked if their non-adherence might be due to a belief that one should not mix their meds and drugs/alcohol, who wouldn't answer in the affirmative as a way of explaining their non-adherence?
