U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has chosen Ambassador Eric Goosby, MD, the U.S. global AIDS coordinator, to lead the new Office of Global Health Diplomacy, The New York Times (NYT) reports. Goosby will remain as head of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). The focus of the new office is to provide diplomatic support in implementing the goals of the U.S. Global Health Initiative, according to the DipNote blog.
