yes it is significant. All the poz experienced greater atrophy regardless of cog function. All, as opposed to none of the non-poz controls. yes there is often bad news but it is better to have it than not. The good news is that proper diet and exercise(both aerobic and resistance training) improves brain health. Reading an article like this brings home the critical need to fight to stay as physically young as you can. Tennis is my favorite for pumping up the body and the brain.

Welcome to the site of bad news! "All 38 participants were 60 years old or older. They were compared with a control group of 24 age-matched, HIV-negative healthy and cognitively normal control subjects." What does "age-matched" mean? How about number-matched? 38 vs. 24... Does this study, with such small and different numbers of participants, have any scientific value?
