In response to comments below, for future viewers: mRNA vaccine technology is brand new and cutting-edge. The idea of tricking cells into creating clay pigeons to train an immune response on is revolutionary, and great for a new virus like COVID-19 with little genetic variation. Why no HIV vaccine so far? It's specifically an immune system virus, so it is specialized in killing the very thing that is there to stop it. Perhaps this mRNA approach will give results that traditional vaccines can't.
I agree with George (comment below) I find it astonishing that 40 years on and not a vaccine in sight yet. Those with HIV are being kept sick!!!! Covid19 also has variants yet a vaccine has magically appeared in less than a year!!! Shame on the Doctors and Scientists. Shame
Stop testing all of these cure attempts on animals. 1. It's cruel. 2. It's not a disease in those animals.
It would be interesting to see if this offered protection to those with an undetectable viral load. Hopefully it would be able to thwart viral rebound, especially if you have a low viral reservoir. The problem? Human trials will take years to complete after perfecting the formula for fewer booster shots. Does anyone know where ACT UP is these days? It's like they're OK with the daily HIV pill status quo. I'm tired of fighting alone to be free of HIV.
Yes always talk of hiv cure but money talks and bullsh*t walks never remission for hiv only cancer people only know or care when it actually happens to them directly and now we have covid and it can affect everyone in different ways and there pocket and other family's yet humans put down hiv virus but covid is virus lessons no we need to turn things around cause scientists from university not that good then are eat my words if there ever is a cure wind ups greed of people trying live
40 years,no viable HIV vaccine in sight, Less than a year ,over 6 covid-19 candidate vaccines are almost being released,why researchers? Is because the later pandemic has inflected even the mighty people in our society?

There are lots of human volunteers willing to sign disclaimer forms to trial anti HIV meds - so use their willing services and not imprisoned animals who aren't of course even human. The meds are to be used on humans so test them on humans!
