I too have a Fitbit as well as my partner. In the app you can change your number of steps goal. Mine is currently set at 2500 due to my Dystonia affecting my health and excerise. Set yours at a more achievable, yet challenging, goal and instead of stressing, enjoy your accomplishments.
Great advice! I wore a Fitbit for a whole year before I bumped up my steps. I was able to notice how many steps I did & be more aware of my daily activities. This year I decided to make a commitment to myself to lose the extra pounds I had accumulated. I joined a weekly group challenge on Fitbit & have made 10,000 steps 90% of the time for the past 6 months. I have lost 13 pounds & am thrilled with the results. I have mapped out my neighborhood & walk in the morning & at night!
Get a dog......I always go over 10,000 steps just in my normal daily activities! As a bonus you get unconditional love from a furry friend....what more could one want!

The desirability of walking 10,000 steps a day is a hoax. It was dreamed up in the 1960s by a Japanese comoany as a way to sell pedometers. See the article linked below for CDC recommendations. https://www.keckmedicine.org/excercise-myths/
