This article is a letdown. While it may be true that Truvada may help reduce the risk of HIV contraction, there remain many STDs that one can still contract -- syphilis, gonorrhea, HPV, chlamydia -- to name a few. While these conditions do not come with such a grim fatal history as HIV/AIDS, we must not become so complacent that we willingly run the risk of getting ANY STD. Like it or not proper use of condoms remains one's best tool to enjoy sex while remaining safer.

This article is crass. PrEP - be it taking the pill daily, 4 or 5 times a week, or by using On-Demand 2,1,1 - is an additional level of protection against HIV. I would consider it as stand-alone use if I were in a monogamous relationship with a trusted partner w is poz. But if I'm not in a relationship then condoms remain vital because there are so many other STDs/Is. It is being careless and stupid to have condomless sex outside of a relationship. PrEP remains an additional layer of protection.
