When I think about what I have gone through, if I had to do it again I would not take the poison that I am given. I don't do it beause I feel like I made a deal and so many people would be "hurt", but it's always in my mind.

Sobering info, but no reason to despair! Living with HIV 21+ years has been challenging, at times stressful & depressing, but life expectancy is increasing, & ART side effects reducing. I'm not stopping my treatment! Treat early (participants in Navia's study had nadir CD4 less than 50, ie late presenters or people who postponed treatment), adhere well & do good health work on yourself (incl. sexual & mental health) & you have the prospect of having a 'normal', full, joyous life, JUST DO IT

We HIV'rs just might as well not take any anti HIV drug and have it all end, rather than struggle or insist in living a life full of setbacks like this one.
