After viewing an article on Sangamo's Yahoo! Finance page, indicating that both Merck and Sangamo will "benefit from grants worth more than $70 million," I emailed the author and editor for more information. It turns out that they will most likely receive funding through their partnership agreements with UCSF/VGTI, and FHCRC, respectively. The NIH was unfortunately very vague as to exactly what funds will go where, as well as what projects the funds will directly affect in these partnerships.

Really glad to see this. This means that major research into a cure that would have been delayed will now go on asap.

Toward a cure!

Investing in Sangamo would have been a wiser choice as it appears they are on to something with the recent stem cell experiments they've conducted which showed promise toward a potential cure.
