All this trials are known to show no effect. The only reason for them is to collect data which can be potentially used in the future. When completely new approach will be discovered. But not now.
I'm a 47year old HIV+ male & I read about Timothy Brown a.k.a Berlin patient In the summer of 2010 & asked my HIv Dr. at AHF Healthcare in Hollywood if she had heard about this and she told me it 3 patients who have had thd procedure done and are supposodly cured of the virus.
No, the cure always issue by small poor pharma company for one reason only â??to black mail the big rich pharmaâ?, so big pharma will pay top money to buy them out and stop it. Cure never come out of big rich pharma, that is because they get rich from selling life time long drugs and they will not allow cure. 40 years of HIV history never have cure and I have heard that cure hundreds times, it always end up like this.
Thank God there is hope for a cure!!!
Ted and others I feel your pain and share your hope. In good news I was reading about the cord blood test that are taking place in Holland. The plan is to cure someone. This isnt a phase 1 or 2b or what ever, some thing that may be approved in 5-10 years. It's a test like done on Mr Brown and will or wont work. The test was done in May and they seem confident. They say we will hear word in December. I also expect more good news from CROI '13 It will take more time but we are getting there.
Please let all these things i m reading these days to lead to a cure (functionaly or total). I recently discovered that i m soropositive and i m fealing like i m loosing everything... I hope one day HIV will be something like a flu but i really want to believe that this day is not miles and miles way....
This is a good news to hear! I believe this is a major headway and soon the cure will be achieved. Thanks to the researchers and donors who are tirelessly working to save the lives of millions of people worldwide.
