I was on an aggressive 48-week Pegasy/Ribavirin which cleared my hepatitis C genotype 1a/1b BUT that 48-week treatment really took a toll on my health. Not only was I bed-ridden for most of that year, my health STILL hasn't rebounded 18 month post treatment. The good news is that I still have undetectable HCV levels, so it was worth it, but if I could have gotten the same result with only 24 weeks of treatment, I might be working these days rather than out on disability.
