Sample size is way too small to come to a conclusion. For example I'm 55 yrs, HIV+ for almost 32 yrs, smoked for 33 yrs and had 2 pneumonias in a six week period. I was refered to pneumonologist and had tests done for my lung capacity. The results is that I had the lung function that was 107% of someone healthy my age who didn't smoke.

Add my name to those with both well-treated HIV and lung problems. Breathlessness is a constant problem with any kind of exertion.

I was on Bactrim for years, until another doctor discontinued its use in May 2016. By late June, I started to experience sinus/nasal issues that eventually led to treatment with antibiotics. Finally, after months of misery, the issue resolved until just this past week, when the runny nose and sneezing started again. I am treating with Beconase and with a personal steam inhaler from Vicks. I am left to question whether or not I should resume the daily Bactrim treatment? Any feedback?
