"To determine whether regular use of marijuana in humansâ??especially when smoked, as many people doâ??slows HIV disease progression will require further study." Good luck on this "further study" happening... at least in the US. Our fabulous federal government actively prevents such research as they don't want any more evidence getting out that cannabis has real medical value, and also they don't want any interference with special interests profiteering from prohibition. We the people suffer.

The reason for the study is that for years the government or people's politics would not allow a university to study the effects of THC, which we know most useful drugs come from plants, like the new TB drug from a plant in china. The Rastafari's may have a medical plant that heals and you may never know, for some are suggesting developing Oil from the seeds of this plant like corn. So my friend as it becomes open and transpart to study Pot more is to come, I am sure, past the Rastafarians.

Why in the world would people have questions about long term cannabis use when we have an entire island filled with Rastafarians? The Ratafari pilgrims landed there in 1930 and have been continuously smoking pot since then. Oh, wait a second, maybe we should do some studies of the Rastafari! They smoke tobacco very infrequently, don't eat a lot of processed foods. I wonder why no one else has thought of this!
