I believe from experience as a hiv+ person that the solution to a problem is encrypted in the problem.give me the problem(s) and i give the solution to this
Isn't "stigma" better known as common sense?
The stigma is too ingrained in our psyche. I've met newly diagnosed men who discriminate against other poz men based on the years they've had HIV. If you've had it for more than ten years, you're considered damaged goods. Is it stigma that tells us people who've battled HIV for more years suffer from premature aging & serious health issues or is it just science? Sorry, but HIV is still frightening for most people, and I just can't blame them. Only a CURE will stop this, not daily medicine.

Stigma means a different thing to different people. One could say that there are grades of stigma 1 through to 5. One person's stigma towards someone with HIV might be grade 1 fear. Another person's stigma towards someone with HIV might be grade 5 seeing it as a disgrace, etc. Inbetween the two will be grade 3 social stigmatising. Why no mention of this? Am I the only one to see this?
