I contracted HIV from my partner in 1990. His CD4 count was in single digits. Retrovir was the only drug available to him. He died in 1996. In 1997 I was started on protease inhibitors, anti reverse transcriptase, and other drugs that attack HIV at every point of reproduction. Over time my CD4 counts rose to normal and my viral load is undetectable

Interesting. I do wonder where they come up with these numbers. Like they say it is an estimate which means they are grabbing at nothing. I was diagnosed in 1986 and have survived 23 years and am now in perfect health. Just 13 years ago my t-cell count was 0 and I was given 4 months to live. They need to stop pulling info from nowhere.
