A typical joint is composed of bones that are separated by cartilage that serves as cushioning pad for the adjacent bones. Ligaments attach bone to bone around the joint. Bursae are fluid-filled sacs that provide a gliding surface for adjacent tendons

Back in the mid 1990s, before protease inhibitor based regimens had caught-on, an interim editor for TPAN's Aware magazine tried hydroxychloroquine, aka Plaquenil, for nearly a year, and found that it raised his CD4+ T cells from the low 200s to the high 600s - on just a dual NRTI regimen. Although chloroquine has antiviral and anti-inflammatory effects, only foreign pills, that often have no chloroquine in them, are sold in the US. Greed is destroying the search for better HIV treatments.
