Get a negative result, and it's oh so convenient and easy to get peace of mind. Get a positive result and you're liable to kill yourself. It says a lot about how society views those whose test comes back positive. It also says a lot about what testing, and "prevention" has become in recent years.

Interesting. $40 for a test that is less than 90% accurate, or a free HIV test from the State Health Dept that can be either anonymously or confidentially done. Oh, and the State tests are 99.9% accurate. And did I mention, free?

This is NOT GOOD NEWS... Rec'g a positive result at home, by yourself, all alone (when the person may ALREADY BE IN DISRESS) is derelict behavior!!! Is the Co. (who) provides this test a major sponsor of POZ.COM? Shame! Shame! Shame!

I am not a professional worker, but all I have to offer is that the tested person please do not be alone. A trusted loved one or two should be by your side for every possibility. Love, comfort and soft compassion.

As a counselor I'm concerned about persons testing positive without support. One of the main factors of testing is to access the readiness of the person. A person without knowledge of HIV and tests positive is very concerning.I've heard people say that they would kill themselves or the person who infected them. How do we measure people who test positive and get them into care? HIV testing should be done in a controlled setting.

Brace yourselves. In general, people are now going to treat this test in very much the same manner as a "at home pregnancy test" when this is very, very different test.

What about the BIG Problem... Africa.?? How can you get these to the people without cronies hijacking shipments and charging exhorbitant rates or simply onselling to other nations? Africa is a mess I neeed not tell you that........ what Real and Practical Process is being implimented to help the people on ground level zero? They need help at a rate well above Critical, I would gladly forego a nominal monetary amount if I could be guaranteed that the African Militia wouldn't seize shipments.

This is inexpensive price for a Hiv screening kit it seems for a completly anomous procedure. It probly cost ASOs 75 dollars, plus per screening with man hour, overhead, paper work, also these OTC could be considered savings that are not being spent in goverment free Hiv Test, with hopes to be used in other healthcare settings, good perventioon too, in my opinion.
