This is a very important meta-analysis that supports the need to strongly counsel gay, bisexual and trans persons that PrEP DOES NOT PROTECT THM FROM OTHER STIs!! This has been a contentious issue ever since the first studies showing the protective efficacy of PrEP use in HIV prevention. When PrEP was being rolled out, we were assured that this important warning would accompany its promotion, but indeed most of the PrEP ads, PSAs, etc., lack any warnings about GC, Syphilis, Chlamydia, etc.
