Those statistics are much lower then what I've seen through rape crisis clinics. Maybe based on criminal reporting, which wouldn't be an accurate reflection, since many who experience sexual violence, do not report. Sexual violence is important to HIV advocacy. I just met a woman last week who was infected by her father who was sexually abusing her, and this is the case for many women who are raped, and also some men.
