The best thing POZ could do or any advocacy group could do is to pressure big pharma to lower the cost of HIV meds so that patients in the United States have pricing parity w/ international patients to these life saving medicines. The cost of HIV drugs in the United States is disproportionately high. Patients can be their own advocates for lower costs but advocacy groups (like POZ) and other AIDS organizations are needed to rally on our behalf and not get too cozy with big pharma.
