I too have received unconditional love from my Chow Chow Yogi who helped me so much when my boyfriend died and in later years from a roommates cat, another boyfriend dog then my own cats and dogs. So much unconditional love and companionship..I am who I am because of them ❤️
I've had two dogs while being poz...both sweet Boxer dogs. One passed in 2006, the other, getting older now and having her own set of serious health issues, is still with me...but I don't know for how much longer. They BOTH have "companioned" me, assisted me, comforted me, healed me, and loved me with steady, non-ceasing presence and no judgment. It was enough that I was Daddy, and they have been "my girls." How grateful I am to be one of the fortunate people to have experienced DOG LOVE!
Thanks for sharing all the "dogdom." My dog Pooh Bear was also a wonderful comfort to me when I was first diagnosed. Dogs seem to have a sixth sense about their human companions ups and downs. Sadly, Pooh Bear passed on a few years back, but he left his paw prints on my heart.

I lost my baby Dudley, a cocker-spaniel, in December. I was very close to suicide after his death. He was the only soul on this planet I could trust. He was the only soul who gave me pure love. All he wanted was to love and be loved. He was the definition of loyalty. When I lost him, I lost the biggest piece of my heart because no other human I've ever encountered possessed a soul as loving. Our furry children make this disease bearable. They make life worth living.
