Hold on and don't get all your panties in a wad. They just discovered it in 1979 but it has been around for a long time, another article said it has been in Australia for 9000 years. It is, and apparently has been, in pockets all around the world, especially in Japan. Why they seem to just have noticed it spreading now in Australia is a mystery. It is in the US and has been, it is an ancient virus but has not spread very much so perhaps that is why he said it doesn't spread easily.

Oh ok, so HTLV-1 spreads through sex and blood, but he has no fear it will spread through casual contact. I’m so relieved. Oh but wait a minute HIV also spreads through sex and blood, but not through casual contact and it is all over the world, has killed millions and has big pharmaceutical companies making billions of dollars. So they let the monster out to spread all over the world, they hide the treatment for it or don’t even try to make it until millions are sick to make more money.

so, HTLV-1 spreads through unprotected sex and blood contact, just like HIV, which has affected millions throughout the world but, according to Gallo, there is no fear that the virus will spread more widely? okay.

For him and others to have known of its existence and prevalence for so long and to have not publicised it even to get 10% of the attention that HIV got is seriously dropping the ball. It's negligence. It is near unbelievable to read this.
