Thanks, "Not a Mark fan." I appreciate anyone taking the time to read my work and writing a thoughtful response, whether they're a fan or not! The Truvada Whore slur most certainly happened, I'm afraid, both among gay men and in practice, as when clinicians would ask people seeking PrEP "why" they wanted the drug and how promiscuous they were, as if there were a slut quotient to be met before taking the drug. Righteous outrage sure feels good. It just isn't effective public health strategy.
You've missed the point here and you missed it with the "Truvada Wh*re" slur that never actually happened. Shame isn't always wrong. Sometimes there is rightious outrage when some leverage circumstance and privilege to elevate themselves while the world burns around them and far more helpless people pay the price. HIV- gay men should not be the object of our HIV stigma concerns any more than triple vaccinated remote officer workers should be our concern against covid shaming.

Thanks Mark Thanks again Mark. Seems like it’s much easier for (many) people to slither into their steaming piles of negativity and judgment when the options arise for consideration. Hard for some of us to be positive’ ….. triggered as self-defense against more disappointments ? It could indicate the need for them to change focus and or seek help from ongoing or newly prescribed therapy ?? :-)
