One of the problems was years ago people thought one could be a virgin,in a sense if you only participated in oral sex ,hiv can be transmitted, it's been said by any microscopic cut in your mouth which could allow virus to be transmitted just brushing your teeth according to some doctors,people assume it's only transmitted by one form of sex.
I never understood how it was allegedly transmitted, did he cut his hand on all 6 patients, he would have to drop blood in all their mouths,of course back then people thought you get aids by just being in the room with gay people, in my 66 years a dentist never bled on me,in 2021 with your internet and social media it would harder to hide your sexual activities ,there's something missing to this story, I can see maybe one,the other 5 people were sexually active,it would go a lot different today.
I remember seeing a film about this - probably back in the 1990s. It was put out as a true story. Thank you, poz.com for telling the actual truth on this.

When a woman who was previously exposed to HPV has an immune system ravaged by advanced HIV disease, it’s not surprising for warts to emerge. Also, I’m curious to learn how “the poet” author obtained access to Ms, Bergalis’ medical records.

I think much too much has been read into this case because Acer was gay and it was falsely perceived that he was being singled out for blame because he was gay.I see more bias in trying to defend Acer as a gay man by other gay men than I see scapegoating on the part of his victims.Acer had full blown aids and was knowingly endangering his patients,period.He was not being scapegoated because he was gay.
