I had the pleasure of meeting Barton in 1983, when I was in the 10th grade, while on a trip to NYC to see all kinds of art. Barton was a close friend of my art teacher and we visited him and his partner, Howard, in their apartment one evening. He was a kind man, a talented artist, and I feel it was a great honor to have met him. His art is one of a kind and I've never seen anything even remotely similar to the work he did. Great article!
