Henry, I hope you don't lose your job, and you might move your savings into a trust for many have done that in the past to make a paper trail that makes them looks like they are poor. I wish HIV folk’s could see and understand that they are not the only ones in this pickle. Healthcare concerns are hitting our Seniors too, where healthcare cost are strapping the elderly, while the legal Drug Dealers and their pimps are collecting huge profits for their needs, to secure their assets, trust, huge bonuses, big houses and big SUVs. Senator McCain proposes cutting the sacred cows of entitlements. Well, I say look at the sacred cows like the entitlements of corporate America and billions of dollars of corporate welfare and adjust these spending, like the Military Budget of over spending to provide security for 100s of countries for free, Multi National oil and farm Welfare and all government contracts with such companies as AIG, Bank of America, Halliburton, GE, Boeing, Abbot Labs and PHARMA for the list goes on and on and all expected the American people's money in no bids and price fixing contracts, these too are entitlements, for they all expect and believe they are entitled to these over inflated contracts from their friends and investors in Washington DC. Senator McCain how about the entitlement you get from the people’s moneys, like the limo service in the basement of the Congress to run you around town or the Healthcare plan that the American People spend for you and your family or how about cutting those entitlements for you and your colleagues in expense accounts and pay checks. Oh, I forgot you are one of the most sacred of cows in the food chain and entitled to these monies as a public servant and clearly sending a message to the poor Senior Citizens or the HIV person to suggest their entitlements causes the budget problems, which in truth is a small piece of the pie compare to your wealth and your entitled friends. I hope I am not to harsh with my words, however cutting poor peoples food, housing or medical care, including Senior Citizens Entitlements is not acceptable in my community, for we as a community are to take care of the widows and the orphans (person without a Father).

Many ADAPs are changing their eligibility thresholds so that only the very poor qualify. It seems to me that the middle class (especially the lower middle) and not the poor are bearing the brunt of budget constraints. If I lost my job and hence my insurance coverage I would not qualify for ADAP because I have savings of about $25K. I'd have to use up that money (buying meds) and only then would I qualify. In this country the poor and the rich are taken care of but not most of us who are in the middle.
