I commend the editor of Poz Magazine (Regan Hofmann) for posting this dynamic interview with Kenyan LGBT activist, David Kuria. For some time I have been actively engaged globally in the fight against homophobia and discrimination, so I am always encouraged and inspired when I see courageous people like David. Additionally, I wish to express my thanks to the editor of Real Health Magazine (Kate Ferguson) for allowing me to post several blogs about "The Kill the Gays Bill" which was recently shelved in Uganda. I wish I could say that the battle is over and that our job is done but the truth of matter is that it is not! We must continue to fight on until every Ugandan and every person in every country can enjoy equal rights and equal protection under the law and not be afraid or ashamed to access HIV/AIDS care because they fear for their lives. An American concerned about Positive Americans

Really Regan? Really? I applaud you for being so so concerned about Ugandans. The fact is we have laws right here in America where HIV people are being persecuted and put to jail for simply having sex with those who would rather be unaccountable for their own physical health. I realize everyone is important in this world but why not focus on what we can help change right here in our own country and be an example for the rest of the world. Americans are being squeezed economically and socially. HIV positve people are now a throw away demographic for many states. I lived in Las Vegas for one year and found the treatment, laws and attitude to be similar to that of NYC back in 1985. Regan you dont have to go to Uganda to realize hate and inequality. It is in your own backyard. I have a great deal of compassion for this individual but we Americans need to take care of our own first. Concerned and Positive for Positive Americans.
