Dear Peter Staley This may not be the right place or the right time to say this, but after watching last night "How to survive a plague", I wanted to say Thank you; Thank you so much for all you have done for us. I feel that so many of us are still alive because of your heroic activism. No words could to be strong enough to express my gratitude. Sincerely, Christophe
Thanks.Gracias.

HIV transmissions in the US are limited mainly to sharing of needles and to unprotected sex among gay males. WHY should anyone, seriously anyone, in this country consider this a health crisis when its a matter of choice (to use condoms or not; to have multiple partners or not, etc). I have plenty of gay friends (spent 20 years in manhattan). I'm not some twinkie ingesting redneck. I'm educated, urbane, and northeast based. And i'm fully in favor of gay marraige and all other things that allow people to live the way they want to live with prejudice or fear. But explain to me americans should care about or subsidize research for people who are taking their lives in their own hands for the sake of a a good time. How about responsibility? Would be more than willing to debate or discuss with you.In person, on the phone, whatever. Come to NYC often from philly. Mark
