I agree with Bob. Don’t agree with this disgusting stuff that only adds to the stigma. What this actually is is covid vaccine induced shingles or smallpox or something and they are coving it up with more hateful BS. Is chickenpox also a “gay disease?”

Stop it. *ALL* the Media have been saying is that Monkeypox is a gay STI. Cities around the world are taking way too long to react because it only affects "the queers." Now you're here with "It's a gay thing, we have to say it." Seriously. Diseases do not have—nor have they ever had—sexual orientation. It's attitudes like this that create stigma where none needs to be. I mean, seriously. You've been at this a long time. Have you learned nothing??

To Andrew, The "identity" thing is just stupid, a deceitful dodge, and defies logic and common sense. If you voluntarily have sex with others of the same sex, YOU ARE "gay" by definition, to some degree.

"even then it refers to them as 'men who have sex with men,' which is technically correct but dodgy" your qualm with this expression belies your ignorance. the term is not used to avoid saying 'gay men,' it's an epidemiological category intended to catch a subset of people that does not map 1 to 1 with "gay men." there are gay men who don't have sex with men. there are men who don't identify as gay who DO have sex with men. it is not a terribly obscure expression; it has a wikipedia page.
