I can remember the time before AIDS. It was in that 'before time' that I was first infected by a friendly guy with anal warts. Sometime in there I also got my first case of gonorrhea... and later was also infected with the herpes virus. The clap was easy to fix... so easy that I got it four or five more times. No biggie. I didn't now about anal warts before I got infected, it's not something they teach in school even today. I also didn't know about herpes. It was years later I learned these CANNOT be cured. Today I also get to worry about all these incurable infections being a major cause of anal cancer. AIDS is now considered a 'chronic, manageable disease'... so much so that gay men (young AND old) who are testing newly positive have been on the rise for some years now. But apparently the education on these other infections, still is lagging far behind. Yes, let's all remember the "good old days" before AIDS when there was nothing to worry about concerning unprotected, anonymous sex.
