Nurse Doug E.

Dear Regan Hoffman, As I reach my 50th birthday this Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, I'm both in shock and awe that I have lived most of my adult life with HIV. I seroconverted in 1979 right after High school graduation by having male to male sex with a Northwest flight attendent. In 1987 the elisa test came out that confirmed that I was indeed with the HIV. Since, then I have taken almost all of the HIV medication there is to take on a daily basis. That is almost 24 years of taking pills or like I said most of my adult life. While most of my days are filled with working as a nurse in a hospital in San Francisco sometimes I do volunteer at a local STI/STD free clinic. Moveover, I am not an activist like you, luckily , however I work behind the vail as a mystic with quite pray and meditation to the God of my heart to find a cure for AIDS. My daily work to ask my God of my heart to find an interssition and let the people who work tirelessly in the physical and activist work to find and receive what they are asking for. Recently, thou the bitter arguments in Poz between the K&S )(kramer vs Sean) on the grey areas of cancer about where the NYC public health is spreading fear to the younger generation is uphaulingly of focus. I beg of you and plead with you to put Poz.com magazine back on focus of the fulcrum of the fight against HIV and that is to find a cure for HIV. All this intellecutal brabble is a distraction.
