Join the Nashville CARES’ team of professionals whose mission is to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Middle Tennessee. You will take the lead in all fund development initiatives and support the Chief Development Officer on strategic engagements with major private and corporate donors. The Nashville CARES’ Development Team is responsible for raising more than $1.4M annually.


 

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Research and qualify new sponsorship opportunities with corporate funders in coordination with CEO and CDO
  • Responsible for developing and presenting Sponsorship proposals
  • Develop marketing and communication strategy to support development initiatives
  • Leads corporate and donor partnerships to cultivate stronger connections for Nashville CARES and external stakeholders
  • Responsible for promoting Nashville CARES Fund Development initiatives to enhance donor/partner engagement on all media platforms including web, email, and social
  • Support development and implementation of a Fund Development Plan, to include:
  • Alignment with agency goals for major gifts, campaigns, sponsorships, workplace, civic/faith giving, and foundation grants
  • Strategic guidance for leveraging special events to engage new and existing donors to increase total revenue year over year
  • New/potential donor research, cultivation, solicitation and closure activities
  • Develop Stewardship Strategies to deepen existing donor relationships
  • Support and coordinate major gifts with the CDO and CEO
  • Implement and maintain monthly, sustained giving and planned giving programs
  • Develop and implement direct-response appeals
  • Research and implement process and quality assurance initiatives in Development to improve efficiency and reduce fundraising costs
  • Work with CDO on developing annual fundraising targets
  • Work with the agency Director of Marketing & Communications to develop effective fundraising messaging for agency newsletters and publications
  • Network with community and business leaders to promote Nashville CARES and our fund development initiatives
  • Input and track donor and gift data utilizing CARES’ CRM software (Bloomerang) to optimize the data for donor cultivation
  • Develop reports and analysis for CDO, CEO and Board on fundraising progress and donor prospecting

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Knowledge and skills at a level normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education, business, or related field. Equivalent experience in non-profits, public policy, business development and/or relationship management as an alternative
  • 5+ years Non-profit Fund Development/Stewardship experience
  • Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal and people skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain corporate and donor relationships and partnerships
  • Administrative and computer skills including:
  • Microsoft Office Suite – especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software

Preferred:

  • 1-2 years Social Media Marketing experience
  • 2+ year Marketing & Communications skills and experience
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Donor Management Database systems (Bloomerang, Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Grant writing experience
