Summary

NMAC (formerly known as the National Minority AIDS Council) is looking for an entrepreneurial leader to manage, inspire and grow its Leadership Pipeline (LP). The ideal candidate will implement programming that empowers people of color living with HIV, builds the next generation of HIV leaders and expand services to address undoing racism as a pathway for ending the HIV epidemic in America. This big job requires experience managing federal cooperative agreements, working with diverse oppressed communities, a champion for youth, and a warrior for health equity and racial justice within the HIV community. NMAC pays a good salary because we are looking for an exceptional candidate who can build leaders that our movement desperately needs.

Successful candidates must have vision and tenacity. They must be able to work as part of a team. Good speaker and a skilled writer. Experience working with people of color, people living with HIV, trans women and youth. Proven track record of effectively managing federal funding. They should understand biomedical HIV prevention and the linkages between PrEP, TasP, PEP and NMAC’s commitment to ending the HIV epidemic.

NMAC’s Leadership Pipeline builds leaders of color from frontline communities committed to ending the epidemic. Our leaders understand how race negatively impacts health outcomes and look for solutions to overcome these disparities Our leaders work in community based organizations, health departments, FQHCs, churches, and other organizations on the frontline of the fight against HIV. The program focuses on vision, strategy, and building partnerships/networks. It’s accomplished by challenging participants with unfamiliar tasks, creating online resources/e-newsletters, and coaching from veteran leaders.

Ideally this person will both inspire and work collaboratively with those communities hardest hit by HIV. They will be smart, quick on their feet and able to bring solutions, not problems. They honor the diversity of our constituents and urgently fight to end the epidemic.
