Overview: This position is responsible for ensuring the physical space and equipment of the Albany Damien Center sites and grounds are organized, maintained, and improved.

Status/Salary: Full Time (40) OT‐Exempt. Salary range low to mid fifties. Benefits include Blue Cross Blue Shield Health insurance, Delta Dental insurance, MetLife life insurance, NYCON Flexible Spending Account, and Mass Mutual Retirement.

Reports to: Director of Finance

Supervises: Custodial Worker

Qualifications:

  • Experience with preventative maintenance and general repairs of a multi‐unit apartment building and offices, as well as record keeping needed to ensure compliance
  • Experience with computer hardware, printers, key lock systems, video systems, and phone hardware set‐up and troubleshooting
  • Community relations skills to enhance our commitment to being good neighbors in the Pine Hills Neighborhood. Proficiency with E‐mail, Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and use of database software programs.
  • Clean, valid driver’s license, and independent means of transportation A “can do” attitude with personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of the Damien Center.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and oversee contractors for preventative maintenance and/or for emergency repairs.

  • Provide all reporting to Director of Finance for preventative maintenance and repairs performed

    utilizing a database program.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety and security protocols

  • Maintain and care for equipment, furniture, and tools.

  • Work within funding budgets while leveraging funding through the use of volunteers, community groups, members, and tenants

  • Maintain and update the key fob system for tenants and staff

  • Provide support with computer, printer, fax, and phone set up for staff, volunteers and tenants.

  • Provide set up and assistance for video surveillance system.

  • Assist tenants with maintenance and coordination of custodial assistance as needed.

  • Receive and organize inventory items and storage areas and ensure building items are ordered and stored for custodial staff.

  • Report safety concerns to the Director of Finance

  • Ensure outside areas are kept clean, watered and lawns cut/clean in the summer and sidewalks

    shoveled and de‐iced in the winter.

  • Flexibility to work weekends or evenings as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.
