It's sad that I am not allowed to join an hiv group to be around and talk to others living with hiv because I am above the income bracket.

I've had animals when possible (some places don't allow animals) all of my life. My first experience with "birth" was my cat having kittens when I was just a small child. I believe pets benefit pretty much every aspect of our lives. I live alone and my cat is like my partner. He's there, gives and accepts love 24/7. If Snowy is not in bed with me at night the bed feels twice the size and lonely. Animals even teach us things about life in the experience of taking care of them and loving.

I have a dog Burton 8 years. Prior to him Alex who found me after I had tried to kill myself, we were together 16 years. Without my companion, I would kill myself. His love keeps me alive.

Have always had a companion pet (Dachshunds) since my earliest DX in 1995. They have given me something to live for and the feeling of being needed and cared for.

I had a cat that literally saved my life when I was thinking about suicide. His love kept me from carrying through. Now I have two cats but as my health and energy wavers, it is becoming harder to clean up after them as they knock things over, throw up where ever he is, and one no longer uses the litter box. In spite of that, I wouldn't think of giving them up as they cuddle next to me in my darkest hours. I have thought that these are going to be the last cats I have, but they provide comfort.

The Timeless Traveler

I have been a cat person/lover for most of my life..Munji, my current cat has been the joy of my life. She is tuned into me and my feelings..She shows very positive unconditional love and also still keeps her independence. I do not have many close friends and her company during my times of isolation pulls me out of my depression and I am able to focus and get into a positive routine to benefit myself and get creative..I write poetry, garden and cook wonderful meals as a positive way of love.
