I just finished the "POZ SURVEY" as I do every Month. I have been HIV positive since 1984 and have never had a really detectable viral load. My present HIV doctor is fascinated with this and calls his LTNP [Long Term Non-Progressor] patient. What I am writing about is the fact that the "SURVEY" never has a section I feel comfortable with when dealing with status. Maybe someone could up-date the choices on the questions...

The best way to assure a good provider is to be an informed consumer. I live in the sticks but came from Philly where healthcare is supposedly state of the art. I found a fine doctor....but I rely more on my own involvement than his. As I tell all my doctors, "You are my advisor, I am the final word." Taking that control I have a responsibility to myself and to my providers. That responsibility includes being informed on current information and accepting the consequences for my decisions.
