“Cover your boner or be a loner” may not be the lyric that leaps to mind at the sight of an orange-tinted drawing of a caribou, but these brightly hued condom wrappers were designed to grab the attention of Inuit youth in Canada’s arctic Nunavut Territory. The Canadian Inuit HIV/AIDS Network launched the Lifesavers prevention campaign at the Arctic Winter Games in March with a splashy claim to offer the condoms in five traditional “flavors,” including seal and musk ox. (The sponsors point out that the flavors are just a gimmick.) The pitch was perfect -- more than 10,000 condoms were snatched up in the first two days of the games.
