The Food and Drug Administration has approved the wearable device known by the brand name Drug Relief for the treatment of withdrawal from opioids, including agitation, anxiety, depression and cravings for such drugs, Medscape reports.

Drug Relief, which is manufactured by DyAnsys, is a nonaddictive device that sends neurostimulation through needles applied to key points in the ear. It is intended for up to five days of use.

Research has indicated that withdrawal symptoms may ease after one to two hours of use of Drug Relief.

The devise is already available.
