I abandoned any ID care by my employer provided large managed care org not because of the type of facility it is but because of the people in it. That may sound kind of personal and it's not meant to be at all. My VA doc and staff are super in tune with me, provide great support & service. The private managed care ID staff had this unexplainable obtuse and even adversarial attitude - they were jerks. Maybe in some sense, it's not the facility, it's the people that keep patients in care.

I've had 2 docs gaslight me for mentioning U=U. I've been ordered to submit for rediagnosis of known issues as a CYA for docs that didn't want to read my chart. Docs more interested in talking about PrEP than my own needs...including one who warned me about "reinfection" right after she told me that my partner needed to be on PrEP (I was on a Tenofovir/Emtricitabine regime at the time). At least part of the problem is that a lot of people in medicine are rude and bad at their jobs.
