Obama doesn't CARE about GAYS living with HIV/AIDS. Republicans and Democrats both use the gay community as a last resort crutch when it comes to election time. Republicans use the glbt community to gather religious nut jobs who hate glbt persons so Democrats will lose elections and Democrats gather us to help them win elections. Each party FAILS to give us credit for who we are, what we earned and the rights we so badly need and deserve. Obama is failing the GLBT community by not giving us our basic human rights and by compromising universal healthcare for the uninsured. I will not be voting for him 2nd time around and I suggest others do not either.

The Obama health plan means if you have HIV this is as good as it gets. the only way a state run health system can survive is by limiting treatment and managing lifespan. There will be no new treatments for hiv if this plan passes. If you thought dealing with your insurance company was a bitch wait till you deal with a government employee. Either they dont teach basic economics and world history at Harvard or Obama is a lunatic socialist bent on destroying this country.

People with HIV should fear government health systems as much or more than anyone. The only way for goverment central planners to keep costs down is to limit care and if you think HIVer are safe, dont bet on it. Central planners also need to restrict new and expensive treatments. In other words most of the drugs that have saved our lives would never have been discovered under a government system. Health care will have to be rationed for government system to work and black markets will flourish. This system will end up the same way medicare,SS,and Fannie have.

I too have been following this subject very closely as it effects everyone (both with and without insurance). I'm very uncomfortable with the plan as presented due to the constant dodging of how this is going to be paid for and who's going to foot the bill. Everyone should have a chance to get affordable healthcare, but the first key is getting the crazy costs under control. No administration has ever shown that they can be fiscally responsible plus if you dig a little deeper, there doesn't seem to be much input from the medical community in these plans. My position is that this should be a careful controlled implementation instead of this "bull in a china shop" approach Obama is taking.
