The phrase "the Body of Christ has AIDS" is used by the National Catholic AIDS Network, and it is actually more than just saying that Jesus has HIV. Catholics believe that Jesus is incarnated in each of us, and that together we are the body of Christ. So if one of us has HIV, we, the Body of Christ, have HIV. As for the previous comment, we are also all sinners, and as Jesus said, let the one without sin cast the first stone.
my guess is that if we got lupus from screwing strangers and defended our behaviour of casual sex as some kind of right then there wouldn't be much differnce in the public reaction.
