I agree it's better to crush somebody than to get lost in trying to empathize with their pain in losing. What fun is there in bowling- or chess for instance, or whatever game- otherwise? There is a big difference betwen gloating and pleasure.. But I also think when you are winning you should do it as efficiently as possible and not toy with them to prolong your pleasure and their torture.. both to improve your game and so they dont go crazy (especially if this person is your wife.)
